  1. I think the quote means that you should treat the earth well because you have to share it with youre children, your childrens children and so on.And if you mess it up they can't redue it,they have to live through it.I agree with the quote because if my grandparents's parents poluted the world or made it change in a bad way then everyone on earth right now would be suffering, icluding me.

Right now I think we are not doing what the quote says to do because we are poluting the world with all of are factories and gasoline powered cars. But people right now are trying to follow the quote by doing cash for clunkers and hybrid cars.right now Cascade ridge is trying to follow the quote by doing recycle and green team.

  2. I think this quote means you should treat earth with respect, if anything goes wrong with the earth you can’t replace it. Earth isn’t a toy that your parents give you that can be replaced. You share earth with everyone, so let them enjoy it.

I agree with this quote because I want to respect earth and make sure it’s safe. If we treat earth like trash then you’re like destroying your whole entire life!

There are a bunch of connections I can make with this quote. At home, my brother doesn't care about recycling so when he puts paper in the trash. I put the paper in the recycling.

In my house, my dad always says that we should re-use paper. I agree with that but sometimes I forget to do that. My dad puts the paper in his study. He’s not the only person that does this, my teacher and a lot of people do this to protect our earth. I think that if we put our mind to it then we would definitely change the world.

  3. I think that the quote means that our time on Earth should be spent in a responsible way. We should treat Earth as if it is borrowed and not a place that is ours to treat in any way we like. In fact, our earth is the place future generations will live too. There is no other place that we know where we can survive. If you don't treat the earth well, our children and grandchildren are going to have to live on a polluted earth. I wouldn't want to have to worry about that. There is only one place we can live and that's here, on Earth. If everybody pollutes and hurts the earth, then this is basically making it tougher for the next generation of people.

I agree with this quote because we have to treat the earth with respect or we will lose everything our ancestors worked for to make the world a better place for us. We can keep Earth healthy by doing simple things everyday. Recycling is one thing that everybody needs to do consistently because there is too much garbage that we are producing. Another thing that would help is planting trees. Without more trees, the carbon dioxide content is climbing and the oxygen level is decreasing. Humans and animals are losing oxygen that we need to survive. Also, higher carbon levels in the atmosphere are causing changed weather patterns and global warming. Another way to help our planet is to buy a hybrid car. This is because hybrids pollute less than regular cars do. This will help Earth's global warming problem too.

I have seen the results of ignoring this quote in the number of natural disasters that have happened in recent years. This is an effect of global warming and it is killing many people around the world. Our Earth needs helpers to save it, and we can help by recycling, planting trees, and even getting a hybrid car. It is all up to us. Remember that we can be Earth's savior.

  5. I think that this quote means you should treat this world with respect. The Native Americans treated this world with respect so it was handed up to another century, wich was handed up and so on. They made this world healthy so we ned to keep it this way so the earth with remain a better place. Nobody thinks that anything is happening but it is. Everyone thinks the earth is just strong but with out you even knowing it, the earth is slowly falling apart. We are here to help and make a difference.

I agree with this qoute because we need to step up and help this earth. The earth has helped us plenty so its time to repay. We need to take a stand and help this earth. If everyone just take and hour to pick up trash and a day to maybe walk to work, we can make a difference. Teamwork is the key.

I can tell that this qoute is truley true because of all the global warming. Animals are losing there homes because of us. The animals on this earth started us. We need to treat all the livng creature with respect too. All the global warming is changing our world in a negative way and it needs to stop. To make a change you can ride your bike to school, pick up litter, don;t leave the water running, recycle and surprisingly, taking the bus makes a change. It makes a change because a bus can hold more people so instead of 50 people all producing gas out of their cars, one bus with be producing less. Again, teamwork is the key to unlocking a better world.

  6. I think this quote means to take care of the earth respectfully. This must be done so that in the future the earth will be a safe and clean place for our children and their children. The earth must be treated with respect like a borrowed item. The Native Americans believed that we do not give the earth to the next generations but we borrow it from them.

I agree with this quote because if my ancestors polluted the earth we would be living a terrible life. There are great consequences if we do not take care of our earth. There are lots of ways we can help the earth like using hybrid cars or biking and walking if we need to get somewhere close. We can also recycle paper and food products which means less garbage. We need to try to remember to reduce our waste, recycle when we can and reuse items which can be reused.

I believe we have the responsibility to take care of the earth because we want it to be a healthy planet for our kids and their kids.

  7. Treat the earth well. It was not given to you by your parents, it was loaned to you by your children. We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children - Ancient American Indian Proverb.

I think this quote means that we should care for the earth and respect it by not littering so our children and their children can still enjoy it, and that they can live in the same beautiful world as we do today.
I agree with this quote because if our ancestors didn’t treat the earth well meaning that they littered and didn’t recycle we might not be here at the moment or we would be living in a dump. Some people don’t even bother to do compost or recycle do our plant is turning into a dump.
A connection between this quote and life is when I went skiing the picture my aunts, husbands, parents took the mountain looked beautiful, but a month after that when I went there was garbage NEXT to the trash can instead of IN the trash can. Another example was that beads were all in the trees along with people’s personal belongings. These are both perfect examples that this quote is true, and I think we as a school are already helping the earth by recycling and composting, but we can still make a difference every day.

  8. I think the quote means that the earth belongs to all people; no one owns the earth. We all share the earth and its natural resources. Because no one owns the earth, no one including our parents can give away the earth to anyone else. For the same reason, we as children do not inherit the earth from our ancestors. Parents are just borrowing earth from their children because when they die, it is the children’s turn to use the earth.

I agree with the quote because the earth belongs to all people and we must take good care of it. We are just borrowing the resources such as trees, air and water from our children or future generation. Parents have to keep the earth well so that they can pass it on to their children so they can breathe unpolluted air, drink clean water, and enjoy living in a good environment.

In real life, like books, CDs, and DVDs in a public library, they are ours to borrow and not to keep. We must take good care of the books we borrow and return it in good condition so other people can enjoy the books.

  9. I think the quote means that when children are old enough they have the responsibility to help the earth. When parents were kids they had to protect the earth but when they have kids they have to pass on the responsibility to their kids.

I agree with the quote because if your parents dont help the earth it wont be ready for you. You have to help the earth as your parents did. Your children also will have to protect the earth.

People can help the earth by recycling, not littering, not putting garbage in the water and using less electricity.Parents can teach their kids to turn off all of the lights before they leave the house. They can turn down the heat when they aren't home or before they go to bed to save electricity.

  10. I think this means that we should treat the earth with respect. It is not a toy. You can't replace it. I think the part about the earth being loaned to you from your children means that the way you treat the earth will be the way your children have to live with it. I agree with the quote because if you trash the earth it will be trashed for your children. If you clean up the earth it will be clean for your children. I think if people follow this quote their children will have a better life.

  11. I think what the quote means is that the earth belongs to all of us and we have to take care of it so the next generations can live in a beautiful world with fresh air, clean water, and unpolluted natural places.

I agree to this quote because I think that the earth provides all the resources to live, so we have to take care of it if we want other generations can enjoy the same things or maybe more than us. We need to respect the earth and other living creatures because it is not fair that humans take advantage of animals, forests, water resources, etc. just for their benefit. On these days many animals and plants are in danger of disappearing such as penguins, polar bears, the rain forest, etc. All because of the pollution, and global warming caused by people. If we don't respect the earth and do something who knows what would happen then. We can make a difference for us, the wildlife and the next generations, just recycling, changing the bulbs in our homes, turning off the lights and keeping the trash in the right places.

Also I think this quote is useful in places like cities, hotels, factories, schools or our homes. An example of this is Cascade Ridge because if the children who were here before us haven't had a good care of it we couldn't be studying and learning in this school. Also we have to take care of the classrooms, bathrooms, cafeteria and playgrounds so the coming generations can have a nice place.

I think this quote is very valuable on these days that the world is struggling with the pollution. We just have to pass the message to others and be an example.

  12. "Treat the earth well"

    1. I think the quote means that don't ruin the earth for your children ( the people in the future) because we lived a good life here and don't ruin that for your children (peopl in the future).

2.Yes I do agree with the qoute because if we keep on pulluting then or children wont have a good life.

    3. a connection in real life is that nobody own's the earth so that means nobody can ruin the earth.

I agree with the quote because I think we should start treating the earth better.

A connection is like when you borrow a book from the library, you don't own the book you have just simply borrowed it. You must give it back after you are done using it.

I agree with this quote because this isn't just our world it is also for everyone that comes after use to enjoy. A connection in my life is when I borrow something from my parents I treat it better than I treat my belongings.

My connection with the quote is that when we pollute the earth such as when we drive in cars, motorcycles, throwing bottles in the ocean, and ect. That is why I agree with the quote.

I believe the quote means that we should take care of the earth we live in. We should not litter, clean up after we leave somewhere, and we should recycle.

When I was a little girl, I always liked to go to the playground all the time and then when I went I saw dozens and dozens of trash and litter on the ground around the playground. I noticed that nobody was cleaning it up. My mom was very mad. So I had 3 bags, one for bottles, one for trash, and one for paper. I cleaned it all up.

This summer I went back to the park and noticed there was no trash. I also noticed 3 new trash cans on the playground.

  17. I think the quote means that earth is good and green and if you change it then children would never be able to see what the earth used to look like. I agree with this quote because it's saying that we need to take care of the earth and then we can enjoy the same thing we have today so the earth won't be polluted when we're gone. A connection in my life is when I was taking my dog on a walk and I saw a person's dog go to the bathroom and they didn't pick it up and then as I walked further, I found a pile of chip bags on the ground! I tried to pick up as much as I could and ran home. I just don't get why people can't pick up after themselves so we can live in friendly, green and clean climate. I am just so glad that we have a good school that has a green team. I think if we all try hard then we can make this world a better place.

  18. I believe that this quote means that we do not own the earth, and all actions we make will be felt by us, but more by our children. I agree with this quote because we don't always feel environmental change the second it happens, but our children feel the full affect. For example, the green house gasses released by us this very second will probably affect climate for many generations to come. In fact, the green house gasses given off at the beginning of the industrial age are probably still in the atmosphere to this very day. Every affect we have on this world will be there for possibly forever. We don't own the world.

  20. I think the quote means that you have to treat the world with respect and not take it for granted. Our ancestors treated the world with respect, so we should do the same so our children can enjoy it too. I agree with the quote because if we don't treat the world with respect it will be polluted and all the natural resources will be gone. We owe it to our children to pass the world on to them as good as or better than we had it.

One connection I made between real life and the quote is that the cars right now let out a lot of exhaust, especially semi's. So the world has finally made cars that run on solar power and on batteries, they are called Hybrids. My family decided to get a Prius to replace our large truck in the hopes that driving a small, hybrid car would make a difference. I think if everybody in the world helps out a little bit we can make the world a be a better place.

  21. When I first read this quote, I had no idea what it meant, but after I read it a few times I understood. I think the quote means that we must keep the earth exacly like it was when we were born becouse our children will not enjoy it as much as they would if it was not as trashed or poluted. If you made the earth less healthy then it would be like borrowing somthing from a friend and then giving it back to them all broken.

I disagree with the quote becouse I don't really think its like borrowing the earth from your children. If the quote said it was like passing down the earth to your children that I would agree with it becouse your parents had you so you could live. So they were passing down the earth to you, how could your children loan the earth to you if you diden't have any children? I still think that we should take care of the earth becouse that our children will use it to but if our children were loaning it to us that they could give it to us all wrecked. Its not that I think that we should not take care of the earth, I just don't really think that our children let us borrow the earth from them.

  22. I thought this was a great quote of the week! I thought it meant we have to treat the world with respect. We have to treat it well because we don't inherit it. The world goes on for generation's and its not a gift. I agree with the quote because if we don't treat the world with respect it wont be nice for other generations. My life connection is when my brother made my room a mess I felt really bad. Then when he hallped me I felt a lot better!

I think the quote means that you don’t have a right to mistreat the earth and that you need to always treat the earth nicely. I agree with this quote because you shouldn’t do any harm to the earth.
Some of the ways I connect with the quote is that Mrs. Page has a sign that says that you have no right to be on the computers, but it is a privilege, and also it says that your children loan out the earth and you should treat it well like a real example is when you loan a toy to your friend you hope that they don’t break or damage it. I think that this quote is a good one to follow, but if it is understood.

  24. I think the quote means that you have to respect the earth and treat it nicley becasue it is not just yours to do whatever you want to do with it you have to share it with everyone else thats lives here. I agree with the quote becasue you have to be respectful of the earth becasue you have to share it with lots of other people and people to come. A connection I can make is that around the state of Wasington there are many things about being green and this is what they are talking about we have to take care of thee earth. This is what I think about this quote.

  25. What do I think of this quote? I think this means that you must respect the earth and protect it. You can conserve water, recycle, reuse items for different uses, and much more. When something is borrowed, it is not yours to keep, meaning you must give it back or leave it exactly the way you received it. We are borrowing the earth from our children and we must treat it well. If we citizens of the earth pollute, then our children will not have a clean and safe environment to live in.
I agree with this quote because I think it is true. We must protect the earth, because it is our home. We live in this world. We must respect it with our choices and actions.
A great movie that emphasizes this theme is called Wall.e. It was about how humans did not protect the earth and left garbage around. The earth became so polluted, that people could no longer live on earth. As I watched this movie, I made a decision to environmentally conscious. For example, whenever possible, I bike or walk to school so I don’t have to use gas, which pollutes the earth. Every chance I get, I recycle paper, aluminum cans, and glass bottles. Lastly, I try to take 5-minute showers to conserve water.
The earth is in our hands now. We must treat it well.

  26. I think that the person means that the world isn't your garbage and it gives you warmth and a nice home. I agree with this quote because if you don't take care of the earth then we will live in a wasteland that no one wants to live in. At school when I was leaving from the lunch room I saw some garbage on the ground so I picked it up and put it in the garbage leaving the lunch room the same way it was when we got there.
