Olympic Aspirations

In the spirit of the Olympic Games...please create your own Olympic athletic event at which you would win the gold medal. Give your event a name, describe it, and explain why you would be its gold medal winner. Read Mrs. Page's example below (notice that your event does NOT have to be related to the real Olympics at all):

Example: If I could create an Olympic event, it would be Diet Coke Guzzling. Competitors would be timed for ten minutes and asked to drink as much Diet Coke as they can. Diet Coke athletes would judged on the following: number of cans finished, politeness of execution (spilling or burping will be points deductions), and a post-event gut check (deductions for stomach aches or heartburn). These three components would be added together for an overall score. I would definitely be a gold medal winner at this event because of my many years of Diet Coke drinking experience.

  1. If I could create an Olympic event it would be called Doggie Manners. Competitors would have to groom their dogs, teach them atleast two tricks and have them do an agility race. The owners will be judged on how creative they groomed their dog and how well the dog does its tricks and agility. They will get scored by three judges for each thing they have to do. Judges will grade them 1-10 for their score. At the end they will add up each score for a final score. The larger the score the better. There would be a large dog event, medium dog event and a small dog event. I would for sure be a gold medal winner at this event because of my love for dogs and how much I groom and train my two dogs!

  2. If I was allowed to make up an olympic event, it would be card buildings. All contestants would be give 20 decks of playing cards, and they would have 15 minutes to try and build the tallest tower. The tower will have to be able to stand for 10 minutes, without anyone in a 10 foot radius. After the tower completes the stabilization test, the tower will be measured in feet and inches. If the tower is the tallest the person that built it would win. The prize for winning this event will be the gold medal and a deck of pure gold playing cards. I am sure that I would be able to win this event, because in my spare time I make really great card towers!

  3. If i got to make up an Olympic event, it would definitely be "The Blue Ganza!" The Olympic athletes would come to the stage and the judges would judge how much blue they were wearing. Next, the athletes would perform gymnastics tricks and jumps using only blue objects. When the event is over they get judged based on their jumps, kicks, flips, and how much blue they used. The judges then add up the total scores and the athlete with the highest score and the largest amount of blue used, wins the event and gets a blue trophy! I would definitely be the gold medalist in this event because of having blue as my favorite color since I was a baby!

  4. If I got to make up an Olympic event, I would make it Destroy Build Destroy. The Olympic athletes would come to a large stadium full of fans. The athletes will be divide by into their country. Three countries will then be will receive a car, once that the cars will be destroyed. The the judges will choose an object to make out of the cars scrapes. The first country to build the object wins. The silver medalists and bronze medalists objects will be destroyed. Then the countries will be awarded their medals. I would definitely win gold because of my experience of destroying objects had having to rebuild them.

  5. If I could create an Olympic event it would be called Doggie Do Over. In the event, the cometiters would see a dog do a trick, then have to try to teach their dog to do it in the least amount of time. The judges will also judge the quality of the trick compared to the first one. I would definetly win a gold medel, because I can remember stuff quickly, and I don't know a dog that doesn't like me.

  6. What Olympic event should I create?
I would create a Double-dutch Olympic event for my love of jump rope. It would be called "First to one-hundred." In the event, contestants would have to do at least one-hundred double-dutch jumps + tricks. They would be judged on how well their performances were. If they missed one, they would automatically be disqualified. I would be the Gold Medal winner because of my experiences with double-dutch and jump rope. I would surely win this competition.

  7. If I could create my own olimpic event it would be called Who can climb a tree the fastest. In the event the judges would pick a good climbing tree and they would see how far up competeters can climb in a certion amount of time. If you fall than you are eliminated. The person who can climb the highest wins. I would be the gold metal winner because I am an expert at climbing trees. I have been climbing trees for my whole life and I am really good at it and I absolutely love it.

  8. If I were to create a new Olympic event it would be called score master. The object of this game is to try to hit your soccer ball on the score master sign in the top left corner of the goal from the penalty spot. The materials you need to play this game are one normal sized soccer goal two to eight players, one soccer ball for each person, the penalty spot or a twelve yard line marker. The object of this game is to try to kick your soccer and hit the score master. The rules to this game are 1) all players get a soccer ball and line up at the penalty spot or a twelve yard line marker. 2) Each player will take turns shooting at the score master and the first player to hit it will win gold, the second person to hit it will get the silver medal and the third person to hit it will get bronze. I would win the gold medal because I have a very accurate aim and it is very easy for me to get the ball high up in the air. Also I am a soccer player so I have had experience doing activities like this.

  9. If i were to make an olmpic sport it would be the basketball horse. You would be judged by how your form is, if you make it and if you jump backwords or forwards. you could do a moving shot or a jump shot. after that there would be the free throw contest. once again you get points whether you cross the line, your form and if you make it or miss it. I would certainly win gold in this because i have very good form and have a shooting percentage of 92%. I would also win because i practice 24/7 outside on my hoop. Even sometimes i practice horse with my friend up the street and win usually. Anyway the olympic sport i would choose is basketball.

  10. If I were to make an Olympic event, it would be called, "How hard can you punch?" The object of this event would be to see how hard you can punch someone. The contestants will use boxing gloves. The person being hit will wear body protective gear when being punched. The contestant will only be able to hit the center of the body. Each contestant will have five punches for this event. After the five punches are taken then the person being punched will talk to the judges and describe how powerful his or her punches were.
I am sure that I would be able to get a gold medal for this event because ever since I was little, I would feel the need to punch someone for fun. Not just anyone, the one and only person that would let me punch him was my dad. I still do this today but I don't do it as hard as before because I know that if I do it REALLY hard... Lets just say it wouldn't be that pretty.

  11. If I could create an Olympic event, it would be a “Dive and Collect” contest. Each of the competitors would dive one at a time into the water and collect as many pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. The coins have been randomly thrown into the water already. Each coin is worth a different amount of points. The quarter is worth twenty-five points, the dime is worth ten, the nickel is five and the penny is worth one point. When they enter the water, they will be judged by how well their dive is, how many coins they collect, and how long they can hold their breaths. Another rule is that they cannot come up for air while they are down there. The competitors will also be able to use any stroke they wish. The pool will be eighteen feet deep. The competitors with the highest number of points would win first place. To earn points, you have to,
    1. Hold your breath for as long as you can.
    2. Collect as much money as you possibly can.
    3. Do your best dive.

  12. If I can create a Olympic game it will be "Wallball" because I love playing Wallball with the girls. I started playing "Wallball 1 year ago and I beat a lot of 5th grade girls. Why I will win a gold medal is that I play Wallball at recess and I get better and better at it everyday. Also, I dream of playing against another player, and my name will be "King Ball" because King is my last name and ball because I hit the ball so hard.

    Here are the rules:

    1. Hit the ball but, don't let it bounce 2 times.
    2. you can make a little hit and a big hit to trick someone.
    3. don't let the ball hit the wall without bouncing first.

    Good luck...you're gonna need it!

  13. If I could create my own Olympic event it would be to see who could build a Bionicle the fastest. I would name the event Bionicle power building. I am really getting good at building Bionicles so I know I could win the gold. For this event everyone must build the same Bionicle. The person who builds the Bionicle fastest wins. Their will be 6 rounds for this competition. For every round the higher the rounds go the bigger the Bionicle gets. For the final round the four competitors will each build the biggest Bionicle Skopio. That is how you play Bionicle power building and what I had to do to win the gold.

  14. If I able to make an Olympic game I would name it
"Pie Eaters." The first person to eat 10 blackbeary pies wins. The judges would be looking for the first person to finish the 10 pies and the pies actually eaten not on your shirt or all around you.I would win the gold medal because I love blackbeary pie and I can eat it quickly.

  15. If I had to make an Olympic game I would create Capture The Flag. This game would be played in a forest. There would be a dividing line in the middle and if you cross it then your opponent can tag you. If somebody gets tagged they have to go to jail. Each country (team) has a jail on their side. In a game, two teams would be playing each other. Each country hides a small flag somewhere in the boundaries on their side. If a person on one team went out of the boundaries, then that team would be one player short for five minutes. the first team to take the other team's flag back to their side first wins. I know my team would win the gold medal because I have played Capture The Flag before and I and I am very good at it.

  16. If I could create an Olympic game, it would be Mass Mess. In Mass Mess, you would have 15 minutes to make the biggest mess possible. Each player would room that was identical to the others. You would have 15 minutes to totally destroy that room and make the largest mess possible. There are only a few rules.
    1. You may not leave the room during the 15 minutes of mess making
    2. You may move objects, but you are not allowed to break anything.
I think that I could win a gold medal in Mass Mess because I am not very good at being neat. My desk at school is a war zone and at home I am not so great at always putting things away.

  18. I would win gold at the event called the Grainaterian Challenge. Competitors would eat as much grain (pasta, bread, cereal, etc.) as possible in 15 minutes. Competitors can take a break from eating to up to one minute but the longer you take the less food you will get to eat. Players will be scored on how much food they ate. Also, you can’t put more than one spoon or fork or mouthful in your mouth. If you do, that is a point deduction. I would win the gold medal at this because I really like grain products and my body can use the carbohydrates in them when I exercise.

  19. If I could create an Olympic Event it would be remote control car racing. You will race on a icy, twisty, road for 3 laps to see which racer is able to manuver through the course the fastest without crashing. If you crash you are disqualified. I would be able to get the gold medal because of all my years of driving my remote control cars racing my neighbors on our street in the winter.

  21. If I could create an Olympic Winter sport it would be soccer skiing. The competitors would have to dribble the soccer ball down the slalom ski course. I would win a gold medal in this because I ski and play soccer so this would be the perfect combination for me. The rules are.......... stay on course, keep control of the soccer ball, and don't fall. This is the sport I would choose.

  22. If I could create an Olympic event it would be how many cups of vanilla ice cream can competitors eat in seven minutes. I would name this event The Super Crazy Ice Cream. The materials needed are lots of vanilla ice cream, napkins and bowls, and for the end a Maalox. There will be judges as well that will check the amount of ice cream, the speed of the competitors and of course the cheating part (the competitors have to eat all of the ice cream). I would be a gold medal, because I love vanilla ice cream and in a birthday party, I ate a scoop of ice cream in two minutes. I think I can eat twenty scoops of ice cream in one day and have room for a vanilla ice cream sandwich.

  23. If I could create an Olympic winter game, it would be Nerf war an ice. In this event, there are 2 teams, and 15 people on each team. Each person would have a 10 dart rapid fire blaster, (fully loaded), a hand-held pad, (shield), protective glasses, (to stop darts from hitting the eyes), and a pair of ice skates. The teams will start on opposite sides of an ice rink. There will be mounds of snow scattered around the rink that people can hide behind. There will also be 4, 15 minute quarters, with a 5 minute break between each quarter. Every time a person is hit by a dart, the opposite team gets a point. But there are rules. Every time a person falls, the opposite team gets a point. Every time a person touches someone, the other team gets a point. At the end of the game, the team with the most points wins. This would be one game in an Olympic tournament. I would be a gold medalist because I am good at Nerf wars, and ice skating.

    The rules are:
    1. You have to have a dancing partner.
    2. Your routine can be any style you want.
    3. Have fun!
If the Dance-a-thon was an Olympic sport, it would be the sport for me.

  25. If I were to create an Olympic game, It would be Soccer Tennis. In this game you would need a bench that the length is around five feet, 2-4 players, (You can play doubles or singles.) a soccer ball and about a field as long as a tennis court. The object of the game is to make it bounce twice on the other team's side. It's just like the rules of tennis but just with a soccer ball. I would win the gold medal for this game because I have had many years of experience with soccer and I've played soccer tennis before and it's VERY fun!

  26. If I could make a olympic game it would be paintball crosscountry. I chose this because I love to paintball and ski. I'm really good at going strait for a long time and fast. It would be harder because you would be wearing pads. it keeps going tell their are five people left and they advance to the next round. Their are as many rounds as they need and theirare 15-20 people in each round. To practice you aim at targets and ski on a flat surface. Their wouldn't be scoring but if you get shot you are out. They have cameras all over to see who gets shot and if they don' catch them when they finish they will have a panit splatter on their on them. You are not allowed to hit someone with your gun. I would get the gold metal because I hve really good aim and I can ski on a flat surface for a long time. I think paintball crosscountry would be really fun!!!

  27. If iwere able to make a Olympic sport it would be bouble because I have only lost once. The way you play is, if aomeone shoots the balland makes it that person goes to the back of the line. But if the person pist the shot he\she would be in the bouble. And if the next person would make the shot he person in the bouble would be out, and the other person would go to the back of the line. That is bow you play the game.

  28. If I could make a Olympic game it would be knockout. Players would snowboard down a hill with a lot of obstacles in their way. Players would be able to knock each other down and it is the last player still snowboarding or the first player to cross the finish line that would be the winner. If a player falls down he/she is disqualified for that round (or in other words that player is not allowed to get back up and continue racing). I would definitely be a gold medal winner because I am good at snowboarding and I like sports that you have to train a lot to do good at.

  29. I I were to make a Olympic Game, I would call it a Read-a-race. I would win a gold medal because I love reading and I'm very fast at it. The rules are to the game are:
    1. Everyone has to have the same book.
    2. Everyone has to be honest.
    3. Read as fast as you can
    4. Try to read the most pages.
If the Read-a-race was an Olympic sport, I would definetly win the gold medal.
