  1. I think that this quote means that you don't live for a super long time, you can still do great things and inspire others. I think that you don't have to be famous to be a great person. Your life can have quality to it be helping your family and working hard. I agree with this quote because even if I don't live as long as I want to, I can still try to do great things. I might not grow up to be some famous peace maker, but I can do things with quality by helping my family and my friends. All I need to do to have a great life is be the best person that I can be.

  2. I think this quote means that you do not have to live forever to achieve great things, you can live a short life and still achieve good things. I do agree with this quote because not only famous people can, anybody can do great things but you do not have to live long to achieve them. I do not have to live as long as I want to but I can still do amazing things. A connection I have made was some people do not grow up to what they hoped to be but still do great things.

  3. "the Quality, not the longevity, of ones life is important"
    -Martin Luther king Jr.

I think that how good your life is,is better then how long it is.I do agree with this quote because if you help out with the enviorment, the poor and soo onthen that is better thene just sitting around all day long.A connection in real life is when a person helps with the poor instead of doing nothing. ( as in doing nothing I mean waching T.V., playing video games and just being lazy.)

  4. I think this quote really means a lot. I think this quote means that it doesn't matter how long you live it's person's life that is important and really matters. Also,if you live a short life you can still do awesome things! I do agree with this quote because even if i live a short life or a long life, I can still always do great, fun, and good things in my life no matter how long I live. My connection is that if you live a short life or grew up to be not what you wanted to be every person will always be unique in there own way. I hope i will grow up to be what I want to be.

  5. I think that this quote says alot.I think the quote means that it's not how long a person lives that makes them special, it's what they do with their life and how their different qaulities make them special.I agree with the quote because alot of people say "oh it's such a bummer that so and so died he was almost 100", and I think they should be saying "oh so and so died he was such a good friend to me". Two years ago my really good friend Marcus moved away and now I don't see him that much, and now my Mom says "I saw Marcus at the mall, you had alot of fun with him". Once again I think that this quote says alot and it is good that you put it on the blog for everyone to see.

  6. The quality, not the longevity, of one's life is what is important - Martin Luther King, Jr.
I think this quote means that during someones life span is doesn't matter how long they lived it matters on what they accomplished during their life. I agree with this quote because lets say I live 102 years, but my sister lived 56 years and became an award winning scientist her life would be more important then mine. I think this quote is true because I know someone who had leukemia for 18 months and when she died it was sad but she brought a whole bunch of people to come to know God. Although she only lived for 8 years she saved a lot of people. Also another example is Martin Luther King Jr. This quote we are talking about is one he said. He gave black people the same quality as white people. HE only lived for a shorter amount of time that most adults, but he did something that changed America. So I think that this quote is really a true fact and everyone should believe the same thing.

  7. I think that the quote means that it doesn't matter how long you live but what wonderful memories are made up of your life. I think that you need to live in the moment and not worry about the futer. You need to worry about the things you are doing, not how long you will live.

I do agree with the quote because I also think that you need to love the way you live, not how long you live. I would rather do many wonderful, famouse and know things in a short life than living a long life of boredom. living long is fun, but I think that doing outragouse, fun things is better.

An example of this quote is sports, presidents, art and anyone of your hobbies that you love. If you follow your dream, you may end up doing something you never knew you could do. Its anything you can accomplish. For example, Amelia Earhart followed her dream of flying. She didn't accomplish it but she is known now. She is a hero to some, an inspiration to others and amazing to people. She did what her heart was set on and died young. Many people accomplish things that mean more than living long.

I agree with this qoute 100%, but, I also think people should live long, healthy lifes. Nothing cn be better than living!! Living to be a granparent and living the life of your dreams and accomplishment is the best!

  8. I think that this quote means that it doesn't matter how long you live, it's how you inspire other people while you're alive to do other things. Things that you might do might change the world.

I agree with this quote because a lot of people in history made changes and didn't live for a long time. Some people that were famous died young but did amazing things.

One connection to the quote is Martin Luther King. He was assassinated at a somewhat young age, but he made a difference. If you follow your dreams then something unexpected might happen.

I agree with this quote a lot because I also think that it doesn't matter how long you live, just follow your dreams and you might accomplish something!

  9. I think this quote means that it doesnt matter how long you live because that does not mean you cant do great things. Even if you have a short life you can still do great things. I agree with this quote becasue I think that it doesnt matter how long your life is it is what you do with it and that is what I think he is saying. I can make a real life connection because I think that everyone in class wil be able to say this but we have all only been alive for a short time but we have achevied some great things. This is what I think about the quote.

  10. This quote is very interesting to me. It means that it doesn’t matter how long you live but what you do while you are living that makes all the difference. Ironically, Martin Luther King Jr. said these words and he died much sooner than anyone had expected. Still, we remember what he did in his life and how he made the world a better place. He fought for change in the civil rights of African Americans and he helped to achieve it through words and other non-violent methods. He wanted to bring peace to America and that is just what he did. He lived his life in the best way he could and that is his message in this quote.
I agree with this quote. This is because people are remembered not for how long they lived but rather what they accomplished during the time they had on earth. This is why nobody worries how long a famous person lived. If they did, nobody would think that people like Martin Luther King, or John F. Kennedy, or even Abraham Lincoln were important. We remember these three men for the change that they helped bring about through inspirational words, courage, and leadership. Martin Luther King believed that if you only want to live long, then you probably don’t understand what life is about. It is about living your life so people will remember you because you did something that changed people’s lives considerably, even if some didn’t appreciate the change at that time. This is what I think this quote means.

  11. I think the quote means that a long terrible life is not as good as short happy life. I sort of agree with the quote. I think that a long happy life would be the best case senerio but I guess i would settle for a short happy one. I think most people woukd agree with this quote.

  12. I think this quote means that it doesn't matter how long your life is, it matters what you do with it. Yes I do agree with this quote because some people live long but there life is boring and others have shorter lives but they might have more fun with their life. Like Martin Luther King was in his 40’s when he died and he did lots of things in his short life.

  13. I think the quote means if you live your life to the fullest, it won't mater how long you live. I agree, because if you love your life, you will be happy, even if you have a short life. Marten Luther King Jr. did the most he could with his life. That is what I want to do. - A.M.B. #3

  14. Life has really nice things even when sometimes we have though moments. I think what the quote means is enjoy what you have, and be happy all the time no matter how long you will live, do whatever make you feel good and find the nice side to all the things, even if you don't like them to much. I agree to this quote because you need to enjoy stuff, have fun, and be happy. Not take bad experiences very serious.

During my winter vacation I saw this woman, I would estimate she was 55 years old, who was complaining all the time about the sun, the hot weather, the sand, and food. But there was a beautiful day, the waves were awesome and the view was perfect. That same day I saw two kids, around 2 and 4 years old, playing with the waves, laughing and even the youngest one took his underwear off. They made me realize that I should enjoy life and be happy all the time. It also made me realize that this woman was living a sad life and I don't want to be like her. Another example is Martin Luther King Jr. who died in a very young age. He was a husband, a father, and a leader. I think he enjoyed his life and was happy and he wanted to change the world and make it a better place. This quote taught me to always enjoy my life. Nobody knows when we will die but we can enjoy our life and have freedom, everything is inside us.

  15. I think that the quote means that the quality of your life is more important than how long you live.

I agree with the quote because if someone lives for a long time and is always happy and doing great things, it is better than living for a very long time and not being happy or not doing anything better than watching TV.

If I live for a very long time and all I do is watch T.V, not see my family, and always being grumpy, I would not have a good life and it would not be as good as if I live a long life, see my family, be happy, and do great things, I will have a great life.

I hope that I can live a great and happy life.

  16. I think that this quote means you don't have to live long to have a good life. Another way to put it is that it doesn't matter how long your life is it matters how good your life is. I agree with this quote because I would much rather live until i'm fifty and have a great life than live until i'm seventy an hate my life. Some body who died at a young age is Martin Luther King Jr. look at all he accomplished. He didn't have to live until he was one hundred to do that. I hope I live a happy life.

  17. The quality, not the longevity, of one's life is what is important.- Martin Luther King, Jr. He maent the same thing that my dad always says.."It's the quality not the quanity." If you are young it doesn't mean that you can't do a lot of great things. You can help people that need help. You do not have to be old to help people. I agree because Martin Luther King Jr. didn't have to live 100 years to help people.

  18. I believe that Martin Luther King, Jr. is saying that it doesn't matter how long a person lives if they are doing something important and worth living for during their life. I agree with this quote because many people like the men and woman serving in our armed forces, would rather die to save our country then to live and watch it fall. Also as Elmer Davis said, this nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave. We became what we are today from the actions and bravery of the people in our nation. An example of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s quote in action is the life of Abraham Lincoln. He held our country together in a time of war, helped to end slavery, and made our nation what it is today. Even though he was killed by a shot from Jon Wilkes Booth, he, and all he had done, will be remembered forever. Although he may not have had lived the full length of his life, what he did during his life was what made him a hero.

  19. I think Mrs. Page choose this quote from Martin Luther King Jr. because of Martin Luther King Jr. day. What I think he is trying to say is that it matters most how you live your life and pursuing our dreams. It doesn’t matter how long you live, just how much quality and effort you put into your life.
Yes, I do agree with this quote. One’s life may be short, but maybe they may have done great things in the past to make other people happy. They have put quality in that person’s life. It doesn’t matter how long you live, it’s just about being happy and having a good life.
A connection I have seen to be true in my life is when I saw it on the news. I read on the news that a 10 year old boy who had died at that age. He had brain cancer, and was facing many troubles. The boy’s last wish was to give presents to the poor for Christmas. Even though he had such a short life, he had a huge heart. This is an example of a time I have seen this to be true in my life.

  21. I believe the quote means, know mater how long you live you can have a great life and make a difference in the world. I agree with the quote by Martin Luther King Jr. although he lived to be only 39 years old he had a dream to have equality between black and white Americans and shared his dream and passion with our country. Today we are still hearing the speech he delivered in Washington DC on April 28th, 1963 and we celebrate this day as a national holiday. A connection to this quote of a quality life is seen today with the fact that we have a black president. MLK began equality in our country as a young man. This proves that one can make a difference in a short life time.

  22. I think the quote means that it's not about what you wear, it's about what you make of it and thats what is important. I agree with the quote by Martin Luther King Jr. even though he had a short life he had a dream that people will not treat other people any different just because they're black and that inspired people. Today we still remember his powerful speech and how it changed the lives of a lot of people. I have seen in a movie where white people treat black people very differently and I believe that no matter what your skin color is, you will always be equal inside. I have also seen when people today treat people, who are black, equally and I really admire that. Martin Luther King Jr. is one of my role models and I hope to make a change in the world just like he did.

  23. The quality, not the longevity, of one’s life is what is important, by: Martin Luther King Jr. I think that he is trying to say that it doesn’t matter how long you live it matters what you do with your life. I agree with this quote because someone that could live to be 20 could accomplish more than someone does in 100 years. Greg mortenson is the starter of pennies for peace and he could only live tell he is 60 but even if he does he accomplished more than anyone I know! I think martin makes a good point.

  24. I think the quote means that it's not the amount of time a person lives, it's what they do in that time that really matters. .Yes,I do agree with the quote. I think there are a lot of people who go through life worrying about the day to day problems that really aren't important. My mom always tells us that we need to find the blessings in our lives and make a difference in the world. She told me about a boy named Mattie Stepanek, who had a horrible disease that caused him a lot of pain and suffering in his very short life. He did not sit around and feel sorry for himself. He wrote poetry about life lessons, and inspired children and adults all over the world. In his short life of only 13 years, he made a difference in people's lives and proved that no obstacle is too hard to overcome, and that young people can be as inspiring and wise as older people can be. This quote and the way Mattie lived his life are a good guide for kids my age to live by.

  25. I think that this quote means that if you have a long unhappy life then youre not going to like your life. i agree with this quote because having a better shorter life than youre going to think that youve had a long happy life and have acccomplished more things. my grandfather had a good life up till he was about 65-70, he had children a great wife until he got cancer, he was in a coma for a few months and soon died when i was about two years old

  26. I think the quote means that it doesn't matter how long your life is only about how great it is. I agree with the quote because life is about the people you meet and experiences you have. You should enjoy your life. It doesn't matter how long it is. My great grandmother lived until 94. She had a quality life filled with family, friends and experiences. She was lucky to live such a long and great life but the quote talks about quality of life not how long it is. My great grandmothers husband died at 45. He had a great wife, 2 great daughters and lots of family and friends. He missed seeing his granchildren and great grandchildren which is sad but he still had a great qulity life.

  27. I think this quote means that what matters most is what the good things you do not if you have a long life and do nothing. I agree with the quote because if you live a short life and do really good things or you are a nice person it is better then living a long life. Also what is the point of live if you don't do anything good or be nice? A connection is when Martin Luther King Jr. had a short life, but he made a point why dark and light skinned people should be equal, but he got shot and didn't live a very long life. I think if I had to choose to be either a person who has a short life and does something good or a person who has a long life and doesn't really do anything I think I would want to be someone with a shorter life because Matin Luther King Jr. helped the world and my mom always says, "Be part of the soulution, not the problem."

  28. I think the quote means that it doesn't matter how long your life is, all that matters is how good it is. I agree with the quote because I would rather live a short awesome life than a long and horrible one. Real people have enjoyed their life when they didn't live very long. In a book I was reading about a girl who was diagnosed with cancer, and this little girl had a really good life until the doctors found the cancer. She lived a short and happy life. We are lucky we can live happy lives.
